The Open Track Challenge 2002
Overview:
The Open Track Challenge will be similar to the One Lap Of America which is held on the east coast each year. It is being organized and promoted by some racers on the west coast, with the help of Open-Track/NASA. It will be taking place in May 2002 and will be 7 track events in 7 days. All you boulevard pimps, mailing list gimps, and web board jockeys put away your keyboard, get off your ass, hit some driving schools, signup for this race and have some fun. For all you wanna-be Shumi's out there, the timers wont lie.

10-23-01 - The profile for our team is up on the OTC website. Go to main OTC site and click on Team Profiles, we are team #77.
10-17-01 - Our team is signed up for the event. Car prep is underway. If your interested in sponsoring our car for the race, and/or for the club racing it will be in next year.. let me know and im sure we can work out something.. im cheap! :)
9-17-01 - Registration is now open for the Open Track Challenge. A complete schedule of events and dates has also been posted. The final day of competition will be in vegas... its gunna get ugly. Ive heard rumors of some interesting sponsors for the event.. it will definitely be something to remember. All you boulevard pimps get off your ass and signup!
9-9-01 - The Official OTC site has been updated with a break down of rules and classifications. Looks like i will fit into the Touring 2 group. Ill be running on street tires and it looks like any other mods are permitted (long as its street legal).. the gloves are coming off! For the event, the car will be atleast 450rwhp, 3200lbs, rollbar+harnesses, coilovers and the widdest wheels i can fit under the stock fender. A few parts are enroute to my house as i type this... :-)
9-07-01 - Ill update this page with more info as im prepping for the race. Some plans are underway at the moment for the track whore. Im going to modify the supra a little bit, but im going to keep it as my ONLY car - i dont care what class it will fall into. It will be street legal for the race, although i will probably run DOT R compound tires.
During the race, this page will be updated while on the road (oh joy, the wonders of technology!) with pictures, info, laptimes and standings.
